Hoi Sin Sauce is a classic Chinese sauce used in Peking Duck, Barbeque and Moo Shu Pork. This hoi sin sauce is great as a dip and for cooking meat, vegetables or noodles. Use 3 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce for 1lb of food. oisin Sauuce is technically a ?Bean Sauce? category. Hoisin, also known as hoi sin cheung (China), is a sweet, tangy, reddish-brown sauce, which is a versatile, thick, rich paste. Used in cooking and as a condiment, it lends a spicy-sweet flavor. Hoisin sauce is often used to make barbe-cue marinades and as a glaze for roasted meats. It is also made into a dipping sauce when mixed with sesame oil for Mandarin pancakes served with Peking duck or Moo Shu pork. The red color comes from red rice which is colored with a natural food dye, usually annatto seeds. Ingredients in hoisin sauce are generally fermented soybean paste, sugar, garlic, and spices, which often are Chinese five-spice or star anis and a hint of chili.
